What is it with men and cars? I m not sure if it s me just being ignorant, or if it s a female thing but I just don t understand how someone can get so passionate about a car.

If someone tells me that they ve bought a new car, instead of asking what mode, engine etc. my first question is, what colour is it?

I can appreciate a car that undoubtedly stands out from the rest, like a vintage Bentley, which I must admit is quite stunning. However, I genuinely wouldn t even know that this car existed if it wasn t for my dad spotting one the other day and yelling out in excitement: What a beautiful Bentley!

But, with birthdays and Christmas on the way I ve had to do my research and look into car related gifts that the men in my life will really appreciate, and it will probably be quite a surprise to them that I ve taken the time and effort to delve into the world of cars just for them!

So, whether your boyfriend s a petrol head or your dad loves vintage cars, there are a number of ways to give them a

great gift

without having to fork out for their very own Ferrari!

Classic Driving

I think it s fair to say that many men will fantasise about a particular classic car that they would love to one day own. Unfortunately the reality is that this will probably never happen Sorry guys!

There is however, the opportunity to hire one out for the day and at least pretend it s yours for a few hours.

This would be a great gift for most men, although I think for me it would be my dad who would appreciate it the most.

There are loads of cars to choose from, which should mean that at least one of his top cars would be available. Some of the types of cars that I found for example (which is based on how pretty they are, rather than any other information!) are a 1952 Bentley R Type, 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII, 1968 Triumph Spitfire and a 1978 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II.

Monster Truck Madness

For the men who would love the thrill of driving a beast of a vehicle, such as my other half, the monster truck is definitely one for them!

I must admit that these trucks are pretty impressive, but quite scary when you watch them effortlessly climb over and crush a row of cars!

There are loads of different types of trucks, such as the American, Euro and Mini Monster, which all vary in size.

This is definitely a unique driving experience that will involve driving over cars, through waist deep mud and waters and jumping over massive ramps high up into the air.

Simulators and remote controlled vehicles

Not everyone who loves cars necessarily wants to get behind the wheel of one and try it out for real, or in the case of my car obsessed brother, he s not actually old enough to!

So for him, I came up with the idea of buying a Grand Prix simulator experience, where he can feel like he s really taking part in a race against others. It s true that it won t quite be the same as the real thing, but it s the closest he s going to get at the moment!

There s also a great range of remote controlled cars to choose from out there, which would make a fantastic gift for Christmas! Even as someone who doesn t care about cars, I would still have a go on one of these nippy little things! The one that has stood out to me during my research is that NIKKO VaporizR radio control all-terrain vehicle which is a 4×4 car that can actually run on water, land or snow, can be spun around 360 degree and can reach great speed. My brother would absolutely love this!

Summary

There are of course many other driving gifts that I ve come across, such as actual Grand Prix karting (as opposed to a virtual one!), motorbike circuit tasters and quad biking, so there s sure to be something out there to choose from when picking gifts for the car obsessed men in your life!
